Alex Tilson Founder & CEO
Alex Tilson is the founder and CEO of Loma Vista Medical. Alex has spent the last twenty years leading high performance teams that build innovative, world-class products, including solar powered race vehicles (Stanford University, across the U.S. 2x and across Australia), film industry animatronic special effects (Edge Innovations (‘Free Willy’ and ‘Anaconda’)), surgical robotics (Intuitive Surgical), products for interventional cardiology (Guidant), implantable coronary devices (Converge Medical), and extended wear hearing aids (InSound Medical).
He is a Stanford mechanical engineer and earned an MBA from Harvard. Alex is an avid cyclist (bicycled across the US 4x and across Asia), competitive distance runner (Olympic Trial marathoner and former American 50k record holder), and proud father.
Mark Scheeff VP of Product Development
Mark joined Loma Vista Medical in 2007 as Vice President of Product Development. Prior to that, he co-founded Hummingbird Scientific, a company building tools for electron and ion microscopes, where he also served as Director of Engineering. Mark was also an engineer for the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab where he worked for an internal consulting group specializing in small-to-medium sized projects. He was also a member of the Research Staff at Interval Research, focusing on next generation robotics. Mark earned both his BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where he was a major part of the team that raced two solar cars across both the US and Australia.
Vidur Sahney Director of Manufacturing & Operations
Vidur joined Loma Vista Medical in 2011 as Director of Manufacturing and Operations. Prior to that, he worked for Abbott Laboratories as a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, first in the Diabetes Care division and later in the Vascular division. Earlier in his career, Vidur worked as a Process Engineer for New United Motor Manufacturing where he learned and practiced TPS or Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Vidur earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Francisco State University.
Chris Timmons Director of QA & RA
Chris joined Loma Vista Medical in 2012 as Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. Prior to that, he worked at LAAx, Inc. as Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance. Earlier in his career Chris held manager and specialist positions in Quality Assurance and Document Control at Ventracor, Barosense, and Converge Medical. Chris earned his BS degree in Applied Economics from the University of San Francisco, and is an avid cyclist.
